About The Position

A high-acuity perioperative team in the Panama City area is hiring a PACU RN to deliver post-anesthesia care for surgical patients transitioning from the OR. This role requires strong critical care thinking, airway management skills, and rapid assessment in a fast-paced recovery environment. Requirements

Minimum 1 year recent PACU RN experience (within last year).
Florida RN license (or Compact license with FL endorsement within 60 days).
BLS (within 30 days).
ACLS & PALS (within 60 days).
Nursing Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing.

Nice To Haves

Prior Critical Care (ICU) experience in addition to PACU.
Experience in high-volume perioperative settings.
Strong clinical judgment and comfort managing post-anesthesia complications.

Responsibilities

Provide safe, evidence-based post-anesthesia nursing care.
Monitor airway, neuro status, cardiac stability, pain control, and hemodynamics.
Identify and respond quickly to changes in patient condition.
Perform wound assessments, surgical site checks, and symptom management.
Communicate critical information to anesthesia and surgical teams.
Educate patients/families on recovery expectations and discharge instructions.
Maintain equipment readiness, safety protocols, and PACU-specific quality standards.
Participate in rounding, shared governance, and performance improvement initiatives.
