PACU Registered Nurse
About The Position
We are seeking a PACU Registered Nurse (Post-Anesthesia Care Unit RN) to join our surgical services team. In this role, you will provide post-operative care , monitor patients recovering from anesthesia , manage pain control , and ensure safe recovery following surgical procedures . The PACU RN will perform vital signs monitoring , airway management , and respond to emergencies as needed. Ideal candidates have experience in critical care , perioperative nursing , or ambulatory surgery , and hold current BLS , ACLS , and PALS certifications . Requirements
- Current and valid state RN license.
- Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
- ACLS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintained current.
- Previous critical care or PACU experience or a minimum of one year of on-the-job training.
Nice To Haves
- PALS (AHA) certificate preferred.
- Critical Care RN (CCRN) preferred.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Responsibilities
- Monitor recovery from anesthesia: vitals, airway, pain, consciousness
- Administer post-op meds, fluids, dressings
- Recognize/respond to complications (bleeding, respiratory distress)
- Provide emotional support, patient/family education, discharge assessment
- Hand off to interdisciplinary team; accurate documentation; infection control
