St. Francis Medical Center holds designations as a Comprehensive Stroke Center, STEMI Receiving Center, ED Approved for Pediatrics, Geriatric ED, Level III Neonatal ICU, and Level II Trauma Center. The Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering safe patient care through the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation), guiding patient/family teaching, and directing other nursing personnel while upholding professional nursing standards. This role requires quick and accurate responses to changes in patient condition and treatment, ensuring a safe environment for patients and visitors. The nurse must utilize the chain of command when necessary to ensure patient well-being and appropriate care for neonates from post-delivery stabilization through discharge. Specifically, in the NICU, the Registered Nurse provides direct patient care within their scope of practice, with assistance, to neonates.

Requirements

  • Current and valid state RN License
  • Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current
  • NRP (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current

Nice To Haves

  • One year experience in an acute care setting with experience in nursery or NICU environment
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Responsibilities

  • Delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation
