About The Position

Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse for Cornell 2- our Medical/Surgical unit! This is a full-time night Shift position in Charlottesville, VA. Cornell 2: Our Medical/Surgical Unit specializes in a vast array of patient conditions including oncology, urology, diabetes, kidney disease, COPD, and CHF. We provide a dynamic environment for experienced nursing professionals and new graduate nurses. With a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:5/1:6, you'll develop your skills while receiving mentorship from experienced staff. Operating on 12-hour shifts with weekend rotations, we offer comprehensive orientation and ongoing professional development to foster collaboration and growth in your nursing career. General Nursing Orientation Specialty Clinical Track Residency Professional Development Sessions Mentoring and Unit-based Preceptors The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas. Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing (required)
  • Registered nursing License (Required)
  • Students in the process of obtaining a Registered Nursing License.
  • BLS required within 90 days of hire
  • None required

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science Nursing- BSN or MSN (Preferred)
  • 1 year of acute care (preferred)
  • Previous healthcare experience (preferred)
