As an RN at ChristianaCare, you will practice with a standard of nursing excellence by providing optimal outcomes for safe delivery of care for our Labor and Delivery patients and families. About the Fellowship This is a paid fellowship track designed to prepare RNs with 15 months plus of Acute Care experience for a successful transition into Labor & Delivery (L&D). You will have the opportunity to train in the following areas for this position: Labor & Delivery, High Risk OB, OB Peri-Op, and Antenatal. The track includes: Didactic Training Classroom sessions led by an experienced L&D educator Orientation Modules via Learning Space Curriculum covering: Intro into Maternity High Risk series focusing on hypertensive disorders/preterm labor, sepsis/placenta disorders/OB hemorrhage, DKA/insulin gtt/diabetes. Basic Fetal Monitoring Basic Obstetric Emergencies (OBERT) POEP Modules (Perinatal Orientation & Education Program) Introduction to OR & Surginet Training Competency assessments to ensure clinical readiness Hands-On Clinical Training Rotations through the Labor & Delivery spaces including: L&D, Pre/Post, Circulating, OB High Risk and Antenatal. You will also complete shifts with the Baby Nurse in the department. Simulation-based training for emergency scenarios IV insertion, cervical exams and medication administration Direct mentorship and preceptorship from seasoned Labor & Delivery nurses Interdisciplinary collaboration with physicians and other medical professionals Upon completion, fellows will be equipped to function independently in all areas of Labor & Delivery. Note : This opportunity is only open to experienced RNs . New graduates will not be considered.

Requirements

  • BSN required, or commitment to obtain within 3 years of start date
  • Minimum 15 months of experience in an Acute Care setting required
  • Delaware RN licensure or eligibility for licensure in the state of Delaware
  • Strong interpersonal skills, critical thinking, and self-motivation
  • Flexibility to manage a high volume of patients in a fast-paced Labor & Delivery department
  • BLS – Required
  • ACLS – Will obtain during orientation
  • NRP – Will obtain during orientation
