About The Position

Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Seeking a minimum of 1-year RN experience. This position is eligible for a $20,000 Sign-on Bonus! Please ask the recruiter for details. Full-time, night shift (36 hours per week) Overview: The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas. Depart/Position Overview: The ICU at Sentara Virginia Beach Hospital is a 24-bed general ICU. In addition to fellow staff, the RN will receive incredible support from the Unit Nurse Educator, Unit Coordinator, and RN Manager. The unit has an active Partnership council and is currently involved with the hospital Magnet journey. Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing (required)
  • Registered nursing License (Required)
  • BLS required within 90 days of hire
  • minimum of 1-year RN experience

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science Nursing- BSN or MSN (Preferred)
  • Recent ICU experience strongly preferred
