About The Position

Frye Regional Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse (RN) for its Inpatient Rehabilitation unit. Requirements

  • Current state RN license.
  • Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
  • Documents patient care given.
  • Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
  • Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
  • Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
  • Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
  • Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
  • Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs.
  • Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions.
  • Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient.
  • Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record.
  • Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient.
  • Performs timely and accurate QI assessments.
  • Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care for a given population based upon age specific and cultural needs.
  • Assures quality of care by measuring health outcomes against patient care goals and standards; making or recommending necessary adjustments; following hospital philosophies and standards of care set by North Carolina State Board of Nursing, and other governing agency regulations.
  • Coordinates the delivery of patient care for the Rehab Unit, facilitates problem solving with staff members and communicates necessary issues to nursing administration and the Program Manager.
