About The Position

This position will help support our Riverside Mental Health and Recovery Center along with system wide needs. Overview Responsible for monitoring the healthcare environment for appropriate Infection Prevention practices. Collects, analyzes and reports data concerning hospital-acquired infections, isolation procedures and appropriate control measures. Conducts education related to Infection Prevention. Conducts an ongoing assessment of infection prevention activities and assists with the revision of processes, procedures and policies, as necessitated by evidence-based practices or regulatory guidelines. Participates in both facility specific and system-wide performance improvement initiatives. What you will do Reports communicate diseases to the health department, as required. Demonstrates the ability to build trusting collaborative relationships with a multi-disciplinary team to support patient care needs. Actively participates in multi-disciplinary team meetings. Demonstrates knowledge of and the ability to apply evidence-based guidelines and standards and regulatory standards (CMS, DNV-GL, OSHA, etc.) when assessing the environment, observing patient care activities and processes, developing policy and procedure and educating staff and physicians across the continuum of care. Ensures correct isolation procedures are practiced. Conducts EOC audits. Provides feedback and guidance to leaders regarding infection prevention issues. Develops or assists in the development, implementation and evaluation of the Infection Prevention Plan.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a Bachelors Degree, Nursing is (Required)
  • 5-6 years Clinical nursing experience (Required)
  • 1 year Infection Prevention experience (Required)
  • Registered Nurse (RN) - Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP) (Required)

Nice To Haves

  • Masters Degree, Nursing (Preferred)
  • Certification in Infection Control (CIC) (Preferred)
