Registered Nurse (RN) - Heart Failure (Part Time)
About The Position
The Heart Failure Unit (5E) at Christiana Hospital is a 36‑bed specialized post-critical care complex cardiac unit providing high‑acuity care to patients with complex heart failure and post‑operative cardiac needs. Within the unit, 12 beds are designated for post‑operative open‑heart surgery and LVAD patient population requiring advanced clinical expertise and specialized nursing competencies. As a Registered Nurse on 5E, you will provide comprehensive nursing care to patients who may have chest tubes and surgical drains, large‑bore central venous catheters, and external cardiac pacing wires.
Requirements
- Commitment to obtaining BSN within three years of date of hire required
- At least one year of experience as a Registered Nurse required
- BLS required
- Delaware RN licensure or eligibility for licensure in the state of Delaware
Nice To Haves
- BSN preferred
- Previous stepdown experience preferred
- Previous critical care experience preferred
- ACLS preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients who may have chest tubes and surgical drains, large‑bore central venous catheters, and external cardiac pacing wires
