About The Position

Sovah Danville, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for its Float Pool. As part of the Float Pool team, the RN will have the opportunity to work in several nursing units at Sovah Health. Sovah Health - Danville is a 250-bed academic community hospital, the region's only designated Chest Pain Center & Certified Advanced Primary Stroke Center, and the second largest employer in the City of Danville. It has served the community and region for more than 120 years and offers comprehensive surgical services, 24-hour emergency services, a home health & hospice agency, an advanced wound healing center, cardiac rehabilitation center, two cardiac catheterization labs, a one-day surgery center, and medical & radiation oncology services. The hospital is accredited by American College of Cardiology (ACC) Accreditation Services for Chest Pain Center and Heart Failure, accredited by the American College of Surgeons’ Commission on Cancer and is a member of the Duke Heart Network and Duke Telestroke Network.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a professional school of nursing
  • Current VA RN license or compact state
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support
  • American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within three (3) months of hire
  • American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Emergency Nurse Pediatric Certification (ENPC) Emergency Nurse Association required or within six (6) months of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors preferred but not required
  • Previous experience highly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Performs plan-of-care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and related medical care.
  • Documents care provided in a timely, accurate manner.
  • Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physicians, patients, and families.
  • Assists with activities of daily living (hygiene, elimination, nutrition, ambulation).
  • Displays initiative and flexibility to float throughout the building to support departments and staff.
  • Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate care (transfers, discharges, referrals, psychosocial/spiritual support).
