Registered Nurse RN - Float Pool
About The Position
This is a full-time, night shift Registered Nurse position within the Float Pool department, located in the Chicago Metro Area, Illinois. The role offers a big-city lifestyle, a strong healthcare market, and lakefront living, with no car required. The position involves working in a high-acuity, critical care environment. Requirements
- Current and valid state RN License
- Current BLS (ARC/AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current
- Current ACLS (ARC/AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current
- Current PALS (ARC/AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current (Only required for floating into E.R., O.R., PACU, Day Patient)
- NRP and Basic Fetal monitoring or AWHONN within 90 days for employees floating to Women’s Services
- TNCC within 12 months of hire for employees floating to Emergency Department
- Able to float to two (2) or more units and maintain competency within assigned areas
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Responsibilities
- Provides safe, effective patient care using the nursing process
- Floats across two or more units as needed and maintains unit competencies
- Delivers direct patient care within RN scope of practice
- Guides patient and family education
- Oversees support staff while upholding professional nursing standards
- Accountable for care of assigned patients
- Communicates patient condition changes and diagnostic results to physicians
- Responds promptly to changes in patient status or treatment
- Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality
