About The Position

As a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) in the Float Pool at Aurora Medical Center – Mount Pleasant, WI, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care. This role involves delivering safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures, utilizing evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and effective communication. You will lead efforts to create the safest patient environment and ensure the best patient experience across the continuum. The Float Pool supports units such as Med/Surge Garden, a 24-bed medical/surgical unit specializing in stroke and oncology patients, and Med Surg I, a 24-bed acute care unit focusing on medical-surgical, orthopedic, surgical, and trauma care. Nurse-to-patient ratios on these units are typically 5:1, with nursing assistant ratios of 6-7:1. The Med Surg units foster teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement. Aurora Medical Center – Mount Pleasant offers inpatient and outpatient care, trauma level IV emergency care, various specialty services, and lab and pharmacy, featuring high-tech medical and communication systems. Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association

Responsibilities

  • Providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures
  • Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum
