About The Position

Join our dedicated and compassionate team of nurses at Resurrection Medical Center. Resurrection Medical Center is a 305-bed nationally recognized and accredited teaching hospital that provides a comprehensive range of emergency, maternity, inpatient, and surgical services on Chicago’s Northwest Side. As a RN in our Float Pool you will experience the multiple units and specialities that Resurrection has to offer. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Deliver safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Direct and guide patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing. Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment. Provide a safe environment for patients and visitors. Communicate with physician about changes in the patient’s clinical condition including cardiac monitoring, results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology.

Requirements

  • Current and valid state RN License
  • Current BLS (ARC/AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
  • Current ACLS (ARC/AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
  • Current PALS (ARC/AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current. (Only required for floating into E.R., O.R., PACU, Day Patient.)
  • NRP and Basic Fetal monitoring or AWHONN within 90 days for employees floating to Women’s Services.
  • TNCC within 12 months of hire for employees floating to Emergency Department.
  • Able to float to two (2) or more units and maintain competency within assigned areas.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
