Registered Nurse (RN) Employee Health Part Time within hours of M-F 8-5 Gives professional nursing care to patients and provides supervision and guidance to other members of the nursing staff. Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing and has a current license from the Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners. Experience in general nursing desired. 2-3 years general experience, employee health experience beneficial but not required, infection prevention experience beneficial but not required.

Requirements

Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing
Valid Texas RN License/Eligible Compact License
Must maintain a current BLS & ACLS certification from American Heart Association
BSN required or must be obtained within 3 years of hire
Experienced RN
Knowledge of nursing practice.
Must be able to work well with others and communicate effectively in writing as well as orally.
Must be able to work without close supervision.
Computer skills are an important aspect of the position.
Requires good organizational skills.
Possesses the ability to adapt to changes in workload and demonstrates flexibility when faced with interruption.

Specialized education in occupational injuries and immunology, and nursing management preferred.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the immunization program as well as documentation of employee injuries.
Directly involved in planning/follow up post employee TB exposure events.
Collaborates with Human Resources and Infection Control concerning injured worker documentation and general infection control issues.
Shares responsibility for educating staff about the risk of transmission and appropriate exposure precautions for communicable diseases.
This position requires close interaction with employees of all departments within the hospital, along with medical staff and volunteers.
