About The Position

Centinela Hospital Medical Center, part of Prime Healthcare, is an award-winning 362-bed acute-care hospital serving the Inglewood and Los Angeles communities for 100 years. Recognized for quality and patient safety, it features a 24-hour STEMI certified emergency department, primary stroke center, orthopedic care, advanced cardiac services, critical care, and rehab programs. The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department is directly accountable for patient care, communicating with physicians about clinical condition changes, diagnostic results, and symptomatology. This role requires quick and accurate responses to patient condition changes and treatment responses, along with knowledge of EMTALA regulations and reporting child/adult abuse.

Requirements

Current and valid CA RN License
BCLS, ACLS upon hire and maintain current.
PALS required within 30 days from date of hire.
EDAP and EDAP II, or ENPC required within six (6) months from date of hire.
Training on Violence in the Workplace prevention within 90 days from date of hire.
Basic Arrythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

Minimum of one year as a staff nurse in an acute care hospital or E.R setting preferred.

Responsibilities

Directly accountable for the care given to patients in the Emergency Department.
Communicate with the physician about the changes in the patients clinical condition including results of the diagnostic studies and symptomatology.
Respond quickly and accurately to changes in the condition and/or response to treatment.
Be knowledgeable about EMTALA regulations and reporting of child/adult abuse to appropriate agencies.
