About The Position
A healthcare facility in Brooklyn, NY is seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver high-quality, fast-paced emergency care. The ER RN will perform rapid assessments, prioritize care, and provide immediate interventions for patients presenting with acute and life-threatening conditions.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Room RN experience
- Strong IV insertion and phlebotomy skills
- Experience with conscious sedation
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure, unpredictable environments
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- BLS certification required (ACLS and other emergency certifications preferred as per unit requirements)
Responsibilities
- Perform rapid patient assessment and triage in a high-acuity emergency setting
- Initiate immediate stabilization and life-saving interventions
- Administer medications, IV therapy, and emergency treatments as ordered
- Perform IV insertion and phlebotomy
- Assist physicians during emergency procedures and conscious sedation
- Monitor vital signs and patient responses continuously
- Provide wound care and manage trauma-related injuries
- Accurately document patient care and interventions
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
- Provide emotional support to patients and families during critical situations
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and evidence-based practices
