About The Position

Fairview is seeking an upbeat and energetic Registered Nurse for their Emergency Department at Fairview Ridges Hospital in Burnsville, MN. This hospital has been providing state-of-the-art care to the Minnesota Valley since 1984. The ED is a Level 3 Trauma Center with 45 beds, handling approximately 67,000 cases annually. The team comprises Board Certified Emergency Physicians, Advanced Practice Providers, Registered Nurses, ER Techs, Health Unit Coordinators, transport, and Case Managers. Emergency Department Registered Nurses are responsible for providing emergency nursing care to a diverse patient population across all age groups (infant to geriatrics) and for all problem types in a very lively Emergency Room. The Fairview Ridges ER processes an average of 184 patients daily, with 20% of the volume being pediatric. New positions have been added due to increased patient volumes and growth. The Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care for all assigned patient populations, performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, professional practice guidelines, and the MN Nurse Practice Act. The RN also coordinates care with members of the health care team and delegates responsibilities as appropriate.

Requirements

  • MN RN Licensure
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) through Health Care Providers
  • Completion of Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) for Healthcare Providers required by the end of orientation
  • Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification within 1 year of hire
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) within 1 year of hire
  • 1 year of RN Emergency Department, pediatric/adult critical care, or telemetry nursing

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher
  • Certification by the board of Certification for Emergency Nursing as a CEN
  • Course in advanced trauma nursing (ATCN)
  • ED Charge Nurse experience
