About The Position
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a 26-week assignment at a correctional facility in Moravia, NY. This role requires strong clinical judgment, professionalism, and the ability to work effectively within a secure and structured environment.
Requirements
- Active and unrestricted New York State RN license
- Minimum of 1 year of RN experience (correctional experience preferred)
- BLS certification (required)
- Strong assessment and triage skills
- Ability to work independently in a secure environment
- Comfortable working within structured correctional regulations

Responsibilities
- Conduct sick call assessments and triage
- Administer medications, including insulin and emergency medications
- Respond to medical emergencies (e.g., respiratory distress, injuries, staff incidents)
- Coordinate emergency room transfers when necessary
- Screen, assess, and report medical and mental health concerns
- Maintain accurate and timely patient health documentation
- Follow tool control and facility security procedures
- Document and report incidents in compliance with regulations
- Assist with administrative duties, including required reporting
- Adhere strictly to facility security protocols and healthcare standards
