Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Work Shift: Days (United States of America) Job Summary Provides clinical and administrative oversight of day-to-day clinical operations and oncology support services, under the direction of the Clinical Program Manager. Provides direct, on-site supervision of all clinical staff while maintaining positive and collaborative relationships within the clinical environment. Fulfills position responsibilities and expectations by coaching, developing and empowering clinical staff. Works in conjunction with the Oncology Office Supervisor and cross departmental leadership to promote collaborative efforts in meeting Key Performance Indicators and program initiatives.

Requirements

  • Current RN licensure with SC State Board
  • Graduate of accredited School of Nursing.
  • Three years nursing experience in appropriate clinical area.
  • Certifications appropriate to the clinical area (ACLS, OCN, etc) as required by staff in the area.
  • Demonstrated managerial/leadership skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong computer skills with knowledge of various software programs including Microsoft products
  • Excellent organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to build strong relationships within and outside of the organization
  • Ability to manage a variety of complex issues while working on key project
  • Ability to adapt to an ever-changing environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint)

Responsibilities

  • Oversees daily workflow of clinical staff to ensure smooth, efficient clinical operations and supports a collaborative team environment.
  • Provides expertise with patient management systems (including EPIC workflow), policies and patient care procedures.
  • Provides direct reports with constructive coaching and performance feedback regarding workflow improvement/efficiency as needed, implements performance improvement plans and administers corrective action where appropriate
  • Assesses and evaluates staffing patterns for proper utilization of personnel in relation to patient care, quality and productivity in a cost-effective manner.
  • Responsible for recruitment, selection of candidates, onboarding and maintenance of turnover targets with guidance of Clinical Program Manager.
  • Develops and implements training plans or all new hires.
  • Works directly with front-line clinical staff to implement new process and workflows.
  • Aligns staff with patient-focused culture with an emphasis on patient safety and satisfaction.
  • Guides continuous process improvement within clinical areas.
  • Performs consistent observations and audits of workflows to ensure adherence to standard work, policies, and standards as well as identify improvement opportunities.
  • Maintains strong relationships with Oncology Program Manager, Oncology Clinical Program Manager and other members of hospital and medical group leadership, keeping appropriate parties informed of practice site operations.
  • Plans and prepares meeting agendas and minutes for site meetings and facilitates meetings for all position groups, cross-departmental work groups, and other meetings as assigned by the Clinical Program Manager.
  • Ensures regulatory, documentation, maintenance, and inspection standards for clinical equipment, employee files, maintains departmental logs.
  • Works with nurse educator to maintain competencies per departmental competency guidelines.
  • Ensures clinic supply par levels are maintained and readily available for daily clinical operations.
  • Monitors and coordinates proper disposal according to regulatory requirements.
  • Responds to patient and employee concerns in a timely manner in conjunction with the Clinical Program Manager.
  • Assumes additional administrative duties and competencies at the direction of the Director of Operations and may assume additional duties in the absence of the Clinical Program Manager.
