Cardiac Rehab Nurses help patients recover from heart disease or surgery through
supervised exercise, education, and counseling. They will develop individualized
care plans that focus on the whole patient. A Cardiac Rehab Nurse monitors
vitals during exercise and promotes lifestyle changes, and educates on how to
handle emergencies and symptoms.

Requirements

• Applicants should have a current Virginia state or compact state RN license.
• Basic Life Support certification is required within 7 days of hire
• ACLS is required within 6 months of hire

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) preferred

Responsibilities

• Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
• Works in collaboration with the nurses and exercise physiologists in the Cardio Pulmonary Rehabilitation program to care for patients with recent cardiac or pulmonary events.
• Assisting with the patient process flows, such as cardiac telemetry monitoring, vital signs, patient education, patient assessment, maintaining exercise prescriptions for the patient, and setting exercise machines
• Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
• Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patients
• Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
• Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient
