More about our team Cardiac Rehab Nurses help patients recover from heart disease or surgery through supervised exercise, education, and counseling. They will develop individualized care plans that focus on the whole patient. A Cardiac Rehab Nurse monitors vitals during exercise and promotes lifestyle changes, and educates on how to handle emergencies and symptoms.

Requirements

  • Applicants should have a current Virginia state or compact state RN license.
  • Basic Life Support certification is required within 7 days of hire
  • ACLS is required within 6 months of hire

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
  • Works in collaboration with the nurses and exercise physiologists in the Cardio Pulmonary Rehabilitation program to care for patients with recent cardiac or pulmonary events.
  • Assisting with the patient process flows, such as cardiac telemetry monitoring, vital signs, patient education, patient assessment, maintaining exercise prescriptions for the patient, and setting exercise machines
  • Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
  • Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patients
  • Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
  • Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient
