About The Position

A large healthcare system is seeking an experienced Behavioral Health Emergency RN to provide direct patient care in a high-acuity psychiatric emergency setting. This role demands excellent clinical judgment, crisis intervention expertise, and the ability to manage patients experiencing acute behavioral health emergencies.

Requirements

• Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Minimum 2 years of Behavioral Health nursing experience
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Room nursing experience
• Primary Source Verification required

Nice To Haves

• Experience in Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Programs (CPEP) or Psychiatric Emergency Services
• Strong crisis intervention, communication, and de-escalation skills
• Ability to function effectively in fast-paced, high-acuity environments

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct nursing care to adult behavioral health patients in an emergency setting
• Perform crisis assessments, de-escalation, and stabilization interventions
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe and effective patient care
• Monitor patient behavior and mental status, intervening as needed
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with regulatory standards
• Uphold patient safety, dignity, and confidentiality at all times
