About The Position

A radiology nurse is involved with the assessment, planning, and care of patients who undergo diagnostic, interventional, and therapeutic procedures. The Radiology nurse works closely with the assigned radiologist and technologists to provide direct care to patients of all ages, before, during, and after radiology procedures and imaging. The radiology nurse is skilled with peripheral intravenous catheter insertion and responsible for administering medications, monitoring moderate sedation, and providing post procedure education. Wearing lead protective gear and a radiation dosimeter is required in some procedural areas.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program or NLN approved program
  • RN license active in the state of Missouri
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrate effective leadership abilities
  • Exhibits valuable time management skills
  • Strong critical thinking/problem solving skills
  • Flexibility and ability to work in a multi-tasking environment

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
  • Previous nursing experience
