The Registered RN is a professional care-giver who, as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team, assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame and who supervises and provides care to these patients utilizing the nursing process including the therapeutic use of self. The Cooper Surgery Center in Voorhees also known as VSC, is an Outpatient Surgical Center. It is run by the hospital and follows many of the same guidelines as the surgical areas in Camden. This facility is not open 24 hours a day, so patients are sent home following their procedures. If problems occur, they are either sent to Cooper in Camden or if an emergency, the closest medical facility. VSC does their own Pre-Admission screening before the scheduled procedure. Patient is provided an arrival time, they are registered and escorted to the pre-operative area where they are prepped for the procedure. They are then met by Anesthesia and their Surgeon. Once completed they then go to the OR. Following the procedure they then recover the Post Anesthesia Care Unit or PACU. After recovered they are sent home.

Requirements

1-year minimum of pre-op and recovery/PACU experience required
Graduate of NLN accredited School of Nursing
Current NJ-RN License (Registered Nurse)
Current NJ-BLS Certification (Basic Life Support)
Current NJ-ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) within 6 months of hire
Three (3) shifts per six (6) week schedule

Responsibilities
