About The Position

Sherman Endoscopy Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for Preop/PACU. The center is described as a fast-paced Ambulatory Surgical Center (ASC) environment dedicated to providing high-quality care and experience for patients and their families. The role involves providing continuous, quality nursing care, evaluating patient conditions, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and privacy. The nurse may assist physicians with tasks like conscious sedation and sterile techniques in procedure rooms. A key aspect of the role is delivering comprehensive patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, for patients recovering from general anesthesia or sedation, in preparation for discharge. Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing
• Active RN license in the state
• BLS and ACLS Required
• PALS if required by the center
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment
• Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet the needs of patients and the unit
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written

Nice To Haves

• 2 years of experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred

Responsibilities

• Provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients
• Continual evaluation of the patient's condition
• Providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times
• May assist the physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, including conscious sedation, and utilizing sterile techniques as deemed appropriate
• Will provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation; assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge
