About The Position

Inova Oakville Ambulatory Surgery Center located at 400 Fannon St. Alexandria VA, is currently hiring a Full-Time seasoned PreOp/PACU Registered Nurse (RN) to become integral members of our team, delivering unparalleled care to our patients. The ideal candidates will bring PreOp, PostOp and Pediatric nursing expertise in one or more of the following specialties: General surgery, Gynecology, Urology, Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT), Gastrointestinal (GI), and Robotics. Join us in shaping the future of healthcare. ABOUT US: The Inova Oakville Ambulatory Surgery Center, situated in the Potomac Yards area of Alexandria, now opened. This cutting-edge facility will be a cornerstone of the newly established Inova medical campus. Boasting state-of-the-art infrastructure, the center will feature three (3) Operating Rooms, (2) Procedure/GI Suites, and 15 PreOp/PACU bays, all geared towards delivering top-tier medical services to our community. WORK SCHEDULE: Day shift only, no nights, weekends, call, or holidays

Requirements

One or more years of PACU/Critical Care nursing experience required
Current licensure in Virginia as a Registered Nurse
Current BLS certification
Flexibility to provide coverage until closing, as needed; is essential

Nice To Haves

Prior PreOp/PostOp experience including Pediatrics in an ASC is strongly preferred
ACLS/PALS certification preferred within six (6) months of date of hire

Responsibilities

Care for surgical patients as they recover from anesthesia
Monitor and chart vital signs, such as heart or respiratory rate, blood pressure, or oxygen level
Comfort patients as they wake; may be required to gently restrain patients
Check surgical site for excessive bleeding or swelling
Educate patients on care for the surgical wound or other post-discharge care.
Cross-train to work in PreOperative area to meet the needs of the unit
