Located in Lakewood, Colorado, St. Anthony Hospital is a Level I Trauma Center where we provide a full range of medical specialties and health care services to Denver and the surrounding region through our state-of-the-art medical campus and home base for Flight For Life Colorado. With four trauma rooms including the T-10 room, a dedicated field-to-surgery suite ready 24/7 for trauma surgeons and specially trained teams, our staff can provide life-saving care to the most severely ill and injured patients. As a Registered Nurse (RN) you will assume responsibility and accountability for: Facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with both the healthcare team, and the patient/family to identify and meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the patient. Promote the optimal health, well-being and safety of the patient through use of the nursing process and in accordance with patient care standards, guidelines and the State Nurse Practice Act. Demonstrate personal accountability for relationship-based care, organizational mission, and core values. Previous PACU experience or strong clinical background required Previous PACU/ICU/ED experience required Day to Day duties: Recover all cases both Phase I & II. Approx. 30+ cases per day Recovery of both Phase I & II in same area. RNs will cover both pre-op and PACU areas with 3-4 total on each shift. Staff is expected to float between Pre Op/ PACU RNs in pre-op/ PACU are responsible for pre op calls, PATs, transports in addition to the clinical aspects of pre-op and PACU care. Unit does see a few recoveries form other departments but is rare OR Suites-17 PACU Bays- 12 Bays 36 Prep Op Beds Phase I & II recovered in same areas Schedule- PRN- Variable per Surgical Volume and Current Unit needs Per policy PRN requires a Min availability for 5 shifts in a 6 week schedule block and 2 holiday per year Call not required

Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Nursing required; Nursing Diploma or by endorsement
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required for new graduates, preferred for experienced RNs
  • One year experience preferred
  • Nursing skills and knowledge base specific to specialty
  • RN License required; Current state nursing licenses or valid RN license from a participating state in the National Licensure Compact
  • Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)
  • Previous PACU experience or strong clinical background required
  • Previous PACU/ICU/ED experience required

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred
