About The Position

As a Pre-Op/PACU Registered Nurse, you will guide patients through the surgical experience — from admission to discharge — ensuring safe, efficient, and compassionate care. You’ll collaborate closely with physicians and multidisciplinary team members to maintain a safe surgical environment while driving positive patient outcomes through evidence-based nursing practice. This is a hands-on clinical role with meaningful patient impact in a focused, weekday schedule.

Requirements

Associate’s Degree in Nursing required
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing required
BLS certification required
At least one year of experience in the OR and/or post-anesthesia care unit required
Proficient in peripheral IV insertion, including assessment of vein integrity, aseptic technique, catheter placement, and ongoing monitoring for complications.
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
Extensive experience measuring and interpreting vital signs and levels of consciousness
Advanced knowledge of patient care best practices

Nice To Haves

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Responsibilities

Coordinate and control multidisciplinary activities to provide a safe surgical environment
Accept accountability for clinical care of assigned patients, including supervision of nonprofessional personnel
Support nursing care standards through adherence to established policies, procedures, and protocols
Utilize the nursing process in all aspects of patient care delivery
Obtain and document comprehensive nursing histories
Perform patient assessments demonstrating knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pathology
Record vital signs, identify changes, and pursue further investigation as needed
Identify abnormal diagnostic data and communicate findings appropriately
Develop and review individualized care plans prior to end of shift
Include patients and families in planning care, setting goals, and establishing priorities
Evaluate and document patient responses to care
Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and care team members
Use care plans to guide safe, therapeutic interventions
Ensure continuity of care through accurate documentation and handoff communication
Maintain professional growth through continuing education and unit conferences
Perform other related duties as assigned
