About The Position

Under the direction of the unit manager, this role provides direct clinical patient care.
The role is responsible for supervision of staff to which appropriate care is delegated. Monday-Friday, no nights or weekends! Position in our Pediatric Hematology Oncology Department.

Requirements

• AA Degree in Nursing, Bachelor's preferred
• Registered Nurse License - Current Maryland license or eligibility to obtain Maryland license, American Heart Association BLS CPR, PALS and APHON certification is required within one year of hire
• Prior pediatric experience

Responsibilities

• Accurately evaluates assigned patients and documents clinical assessments, including emotional and physical pain, and required comfort measures; prioritizing patient/family needs into plan of care.
• Develops and coordinates discharge plans, independently or in collaboration with other staff.
• Demonstrates critical thinking, problem solving skills, professional behavior, and customer service.
• Participates in team meetings regarding patient care and/or practice issues.
• Collaborates with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure integrated patient care.
• Engages in ongoing practice needs and initiatives to improve quality, engagement, and successful outcomes; remains current on nursing research and evidence-based clinical practice changes
