Registered Nurse – Pediatric Critical Care (PICU / Pediatric PACU) - 25-34463
About The Position
Seeking experienced Registered Nurses for a Pediatric Recovery Room (Pre-Op / Post-Op / PACU) supporting pediatric surgical and critical care patients. Candidates must have a strong background in pediatric critical care , with PACU experience preferred . The schedule consists of 8 ten-hour shifts every two weeks , with both day and evening shifts within the same pay period. Some weekend coverage is required. Experience with EPIC Electronic Medical Records and work in large hospitals or trauma centers is preferred. The ideal candidate will be able to function independently with minimal orientation in a high-acuity pediatric setting.
Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse license in the State of New York
- BLS certification (must be current and eligible for recertification)
- Minimum 1.5 years of recent pediatric acute or critical care experience (within the past 2 years)
- Travelers must have experience in hospitals of equal or greater size or trauma centers
- Prior pediatric critical care experience required
- No history of professional license or certification suspension or investigation
- No prior involvement as a defendant in a professional liability claim
- Legal authorization to work in the United States
- Ability to successfully pass pre-employment health clearance, drug screening, and criminal background check
Nice To Haves

- EPIC EMR experience preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments in a pediatric critical care or PACU setting
- Provide pre-operative and post-anesthesia nursing care to pediatric patients
- Monitor and respond to changes in patient condition
- Deliver high-quality patient care with minimal supervision
- Collaborate effectively with pediatric physicians, anesthesiology, and interdisciplinary teams
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and patient safety standards
