IUH Bloomington Pain Procedure Center is a specialized Hospital Outpatient procedural area with primarily adult patients focusing on interventional pain procedures for patients experiencing Chronic Pain. Our Nurses train to care for patients who undergo minimally invasive procedures such as Epidural Steroid injections, Radio-Frequency Ablations, Nerve Blocks, Spinal Cord Stimulator Trials, and other lower acuity injection options. Our department has two procedure rooms with 5 pre/post spaces. This office is closed during weekend and holidays, operating primarily during normal business hours 7a-5p Monday- Thursdays. Nursing skills gained: Pre-Procedural  Post-procedural  Intra-operative Circulator (Procedure support, not as much patient monitoring) Spinal Cord Stimulator Trial Lead removals Unit Successes/Designations/National recognition: Fast growing Interventional Pain program which also supports the South Region Spine program. This program partners as a multidisciplinary group with Neurosurgery and Physical therapy to streamline patient care and improve patient outcomes. Requirements

  • Requires 1 year RN experience.
  • Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
  • Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
  • Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
  • Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
