About The Position

Registered Nurse (RN) Operating Room Location: Abrazo West, Level 1 Trauma Center Are you looking to take your perioperative nursing career to the next level? Join our dynamic team of skilled professionals in a Level 1 Trauma Center where you’ll have the opportunity to make a real impact every single day. As a Registered Nurse in the Operating Room , you’ll be working in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment across 11 state-of-the-art operating rooms . Our facility features cutting-edge technology, including a hybrid vascular room, two DaVinci robotic systems, and two Neuro/Spine Navigation platforms to support a wide range of surgical specialties. We perform approximately 500–600 complex cases per month , including Total Joints, Ortho Trauma, Urology, Neuro/Spine, and Vascular procedures . This diverse caseload offers the chance to continually grow your skills while working alongside expert surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical teams. Job Summary: The Operating Room RN is responsible for delivering safe, effective, and compassionate care throughout the perioperative period. This includes pre-op assessment, intraoperative assistance, and post-op evaluation, always keeping the patient and their family at the center of all decisions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Current RN license in the state of practice
  • BLS and ACLS certifications
  • Minimum 2 years of OR experience in acute care
  • Basic computer proficiency

Nice To Haves

  • CNOR certification
  • Experience in trauma, neuro, spine, ortho, or vascular procedures
  • PALS certification (if applicable)

Responsibilities

  • Perform continuous assessment and develop individualized perioperative care plans.
  • Prevent surgical errors by adhering to safety protocols, including site verification and accurate surgical counts.
  • Administer medications and manage specimens in accordance with policies.
  • Maintain critical system functions (cardiac, respiratory, neurological) and ensure patient safety during procedures.
  • Promote patient education, engagement, and emotional support before and after surgery.
  • Ensure patient dignity, privacy, and culturally competent care.
  • Accurately document all care activities and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Participate in ongoing performance improvement initiatives.
  • Uphold organizational values and serve as a patient advocate.
