About The Position

RN – Oncology / Infusion & Wound Care Join our Outpatient Nursing Services (OPNS) team at Moab Regional Hospital! Rural nursing at its finest! You are passionate about delivering consistent, high-quality care while expanding your clinical expertise. In our rural setting, you will build meaningful relationships with a close-knit patient population and play a vital role across two specialized service lines: oncology/infusion and wound care. The ideal candidate is adaptable, clinically curious, and motivated to develop advanced competencies in both infusion therapy (including chemotherapy) and comprehensive wound management. This role is designed to support a flexible care model, with the RN cross-trained to float between both departments based on patient and operational needs. ---------------------------------------- Position Details: Non-exempt, part-time, benefited position Anticipated schedule: Day shifts Monday - Friday Starting pay range: $31 – $44.88/hour, DOE ---------------------------------------- Position Summary: The RN provides direct patient care within the scope of practice, supporting both oncology/infusion and wound care services. Responsibilities include patient assessment, care planning, treatment administration, patient education, and interdisciplinary collaboration. The RN will develop and maintain competence in both specialties and provide care in either setting as assigned.

Requirements

  • Current, unencumbered Utah or compact state RN license
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications, or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire
  • ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Administration Certificate, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
  • Wound Care certification, or ability to obtain within 2 years of hire
  • Perform comprehensive wound assessments, evaluating size, depth, type, and tissue viability, and accurately document findings to monitor healing progress. In collaboration with physicians, develop and implement individualized treatment plans, selecting appropriate dressings, therapies, and interventions to optimize healing while ensuring patient comfort and safety.
  • Knowledge of infection control principles, patient safety practices, and prevention/management of treatment-related complications
  • Strong critical thinking skills and ability to respond effectively in rapidly changing clinical situations
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and emotional maturity
  • Reliable attendance and flexibility to meet departmental needs

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established scope and standards of practice, and organizational policies, procedures, and protocols
  • Performs comprehensive patient assessments, including: Oncology/infusion: pre-, intra-, and post-treatment evaluations Wound care: evaluation of wound size, depth, tissue type, and healing progression
  • Safely administer infusion therapies, including chemotherapy and non-chemotherapy treatments, in accordance with established protocols
  • Develops, implements, and evaluates individualized care plans in collaboration with providers and interdisciplinary team members
  • Selects and applies appropriate wound care treatments, dressings, and interventions to promote optimal healing outcomes
  • Monitors patient response to treatments, including managing side effects, complications, and pain
  • Accurately documents assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the electronic medical record
  • Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medication management, wound care techniques, and self-care strategies
  • Coordinates care across disciplines, addressing physical, psychosocial, financial, and discharge planning needs
  • Maintains strict adherence to infection control standards and patient safety practices
  • Participates in quality improvement initiatives and supports evidence-based practice
  • Serves as a clinical resource and may precept student nurses and new hires
  • Maintains ongoing professional development in both oncology/infusion and wound care specialties
  • Floats between oncology/infusion and wound care departments based on operational needs
