Kern Medical, founded in 1867, is an acute care teaching center with 222 beds, providing advanced trauma care and a range of primary, specialty, and multi-specialty services. These services include high-risk pregnancy care, inpatient psychiatric services integrated with county mental health programs, and a growing network of outpatient clinics focused on personalized patient-centered wellness care. Kern Medical serves approximately 15,000 inpatients and 125,000 clinic patients annually. This Registered Nurse position is on a Per Diem basis, meaning employees supplement department staffing needs without a guarantee of minimum hours. Per Diem staff must be willing and available to work four (4) shifts per six (6) week scheduling period. The estimated pay for this role ranges from $41.0485 to $64.6800, which is a portion of the total compensation package, as additional compensation may be available through differentials, incentives, and bonuses. The Registered Nurse classification accommodates a range of experience, from novice nurses with limited knowledge and skills to expert nurses with advanced knowledge and skills capable of performing work with minimum supervision. It is designed to support the expanding experience of RNs, including orienting those with limited experience and re-entry nurses to current clinical practice. The HSN (presumably Hospital Staff Nurse) is expected to enhance the nursing profession, improve professional practice, contribute to others' development, demonstrate caring-healing practices, and promote the organization's and Department of Nursing's vision and goals. All nursing clinical practice is evaluated and governed by the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) and/or their RN designee.
