About The Position

The Open Heart / CVOR Registered Nurse delivers specialized perioperative nursing care for patients undergoing cardiothoracic and open-heart surgical procedures. This role requires strong clinical expertise in CVOR workflows, sterile technique, patient monitoring, and interdisciplinary collaboration. The ideal candidate is clinically confident, adaptable to on-call demands, and committed to delivering high-acuity, outcomes-driven care in a fast-paced surgical environment.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of recent Open Heart (CVOR) RN experience in an acute care hospital (required)
• Active Florida RN license or multistate compact license
• Compact license holders must obtain Florida licensure within 60 days of relocation
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS (AHA Healthcare Provider) – required

Nice To Haves

• BSN preferred
• CNOR preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide perioperative nursing care for open-heart and cardiothoracic surgical procedures
• Maintain strict sterile technique and adherence to surgical safety standards
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, perfusionists, and operating room staff
• Anticipate procedural needs and respond effectively to intraoperative changes
• Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with regulatory and quality requirements
• Participate in on-call rotation to support emergent cardiac cases
