About The Position

Join the St. Cloud VA Health Care System as a Office of Director Quality Coordinator Registered Nurse and take on a high-visibility role that shapes how care is delivered across the facility. You will lead data-driven improvement efforts, support accreditation readiness, advance patient safety initiatives, and collaborate directly with leaders to elevate the quality of care Veterans receive every day. The Quality Coordinator Registered Nurse plays a pivotal role in advancing excellence across the St. Cloud VA Health Care System. This position blends clinical insight with analytical expertise to drive meaningful improvements in patient safety, regulatory compliance, and care delivery. Serving as a trusted partner to leadership and frontline staff, the nurse leads facility initiatives, interprets performance data, and guides teams through accreditation requirements and high-reliability practices. This role is ideal for a nurse who thrives on elevating systems of care and shaping the Veteran experience at every level.

Responsibilities

  • Lead performance improvement initiatives by gathering, analyzing, and interpreting clinical and operational data to identify trends and recommend targeted actions.
  • Serve as a facility-wide resource for quality, accreditation, and patient safety standards, guiding teams in meeting regulatory and compliance expectations.
  • Provide education and coaching to service lines on performance improvement methods, Joint Commission requirements, and system-wide quality priorities.
  • Oversee key programs such as Clinical Reminders, External Peer Review Program, and the Survey of Healthcare Experiences of Patients, ensuring results are shared and acted upon.
  • Facilitate and, when trained, lead Root Cause Analyses and Healthcare Failure Mode and Effects Analyses to address safety concerns and prevent future events.
  • Collaborate with leadership and interdisciplinary teams to develop action plans, monitor progress, and strengthen the delivery of safe, reliable, Veteran-centered care.
  • Support credentialing and privileging activities through participation in Ongoing and Focused Professional Practice Evaluations and related quality reviews.
  • Provide critical backup for Patient Safety, Mental Health Quality, and other essential functions, ensuring continuous support for facility quality operations.
