About The Position

Summerlin Hospital is a 496-bed facility offering emergency services, a busy maternity department with approximately 450 deliveries monthly, a Children’s Medical Center including a NICU, pediatric ICU, and separate pediatric ER, advanced cardiovascular care, surgical services, women’s health, and oncology care. It is an accredited Chest Pain with PCI facility and a Primary Stroke Center, recognized with multiple awards from the American Heart Association Get with the Guidelines program. The Valley Health System (VHS), comprising six hospitals in Las Vegas and Southern Nevada, seeks individuals aligned with its vision and values, focusing on exemplary patient care through advanced technology, processes, performance improvement, patient safety standards, a collaborative practice model, evidence-based practice, and continuous education and development. This Registered Nurse position involves providing safe, competent nursing care to patients in accordance with facility policies, standards, and philosophy, with Patient Centered Care as the foundation. The role also includes providing professional leadership and support to the healthcare team, overseeing and guiding supervised employees, and consistently demonstrating Service Excellence standards.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing
  • Current RN license in the state of Nevada
  • Current BLS Certification
  • Current PALS Certification (pediatric patients) or current NRP Certification (Neonatal patients) as required by department
  • Other certification may be required by facility, specialty, or department
  • Must successfully pass any pre-employment assessment(s) required by the facility

Nice To Haves

  • BSN preferred
  • One-year full time or three years part time experience in acute care setting preferred
