Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse Oncology Navigator for the Medical Oncology and Infusion Center. This a Full time, day shift position in Charlottesville, VA. The schedule is 8-hour shifts Monday to Friday (40 hours a week). No nights or weekends. This position is open to experienced Registered Nurses who wish to move into a navigation/education role. No Oncology experience is required. Care coordination is a component of this position. The Oncology Nurse Navigator at Sentara Martha Jefferson Cancer Center, you will serve as the primary contact for patients experiencing Head, Neck, and Lung issues, providing empathetic support and comprehensive education on cancer diagnoses and treatment options. Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, you will ensure seamless care by coordinating surgical schedules, performing insurance pre-authorizations, and facilitating timely access to appointments and tests. Your advocacy will empower patients by addressing their concerns, ensuring their voices are heard within the healthcare system, and guiding them to wellness and supportive care services. Ultimately, you will play a vital role in helping patients navigate their treatment journey from diagnosis to survivorship with reassurance and clarity.
