About The Position

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced and compassionate Mother Baby Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality, family-centered care to postpartum mothers and their newborns. This role focuses on maternal recovery, newborn assessment, feeding support, bonding, and patient education within a postpartum care setting.

Requirements

Minimum of 2 years of Mother Baby or postpartum RN experience
Proven experience caring for both postpartum mothers and newborns
Strong patient education and family-centered care skills
Experience with electronic medical records (EPIC preferred)
Active New Jersey RN license or Compact RN license
AHA Basic Life Support (BLS)
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)

Nice To Haves

Couplet care experience
Experience in high-volume postpartum units

Responsibilities

Provide direct nursing care to postpartum mothers and newborns (couplet care)
Perform comprehensive maternal postpartum assessments and monitor recovery
Conduct newborn assessments, including vital signs, feeding, and thermoregulation
Educate families on breastfeeding, bottle feeding, newborn care, and postpartum recovery
Administer medications and treatments per provider orders and facility protocols
Identify and respond to maternal or newborn complications
Deliver discharge planning and education to ensure safe transitions home
Accurately document assessments, care, and education in the electronic medical record (EPIC preferred)
Collaborate with OB providers, pediatricians, lactation consultants, and interdisciplinary teams
Maintain patient safety, infection control standards, and regulatory compliance
Participate in shift handoffs to ensure continuity of care
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient care environment
Perform additional Mother Baby nursing duties as assigned
