About The Position

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join a Medical Surgical (Med Surg) team within a well-established acute care hospital setting in Honolulu, HI. This role is ideal for an RN who thrives in a collaborative environment and is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care across a diverse adult population. The RN will provide comprehensive nursing care for patients with a variety of medical conditions, supporting recovery, managing acute and chronic illnesses, and ensuring optimal patient outcomes.

Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Hawaii or compact eligibility if applicable)
  • Minimum 1 year of acute care or Med Surg experience
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to manage multiple patients in a fast-paced hospital environment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Medical Surgical or acute care hospital settings
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
  • BSN preferred
  • Familiarity with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, or similar)
  • Strong clinical judgment and decision-making
  • Effective time management and prioritization
  • Excellent communication and teamwork
  • Patient-centered care approach
  • Cultural sensitivity and adaptability to diverse patient populations

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to adult patients in a medical-surgical unit
  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including physical and clinical evaluations
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments in accordance with physician orders
  • Develop, implement, and update individualized care plans
  • Monitor patient conditions and respond promptly to changes in status
  • Collaborate with physicians, case managers, therapists, and interdisciplinary teams
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, discharge planning, and follow-up care
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in EMR systems
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, infection control standards, and patient safety protocols
  • Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges
