About The Position

Join our exceptional team of nurses and make a lasting impact. Saint Luke’s Community Hospital in Leawood is hiring an experienced Med Surg Intermediate RN in a PRN capacity . In this critical role, you'll serve as the lead RN, working autonomously and as part of a collaborative team to deliver outstanding care to patients with diverse acuity levels. Shift: PRN Plus (minimum 3 shifts every 6 weeks, 1 must be a weekend shift; 1 minor holiday per year)

Requirements

  • Kansas RN license (or compact)
  • Basic Life Support - American Heart Association or Red Cross
  • Registered Nurse (KS) - National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NURSYS)
  • Associate Degree
  • Applicable Experience: 2 years

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years of acute care RN experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care in the Inpatient/Telemetry Unit
  • Perform triage, assessments, and direct patient care.
  • Collaborate across clinical and administrative teams to ensure high-quality outcomes.
  • Lead care coordination and act as a clinical role model in the department.
  • Demonstrate ability to mange care within the established standards of nursing care and practice as defined by the state.
  • Appropriately triage patient and prioritizes needs, displaying a caring and responsive attitude.
  • Initiate care to stabilize patient and assist in managing life support needs by collaborating with physician and clinical staff, demonstrating appropriate admission, discharge and transfer procedures.
  • Collect detailed patient history and symptoms, including vital signs, providing appropriate care in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Collect laboratory samples and perform lab testing in accordance with CLIA regulations and established polices and procedures.
  • Report adverse treatments or medications in accordance with current policies and procedures.
  • Prepare patient meals.
  • Participates in QAPI activities including participation in accreditation preparation and survey process, and maintenance of accreditation, state, and CMS standards.
