About The Position

A healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to support its Labor & Delivery and Post-Partum units on a contract basis. This role provides specialized nursing care to mothers and newborns during labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum care in a fast-paced clinical environment. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical expertise in obstetrics, the flexibility to float between Labor & Delivery and Post-Partum units, and experience working with electronic medical records in high-acuity settings.

Requirements

• Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license (required)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience (required)
• Experience floating to Post-Partum units (required)
• Proficiency with EPIC documentation systems
• Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required)

Nice To Haves

• Additional obstetric or specialty certifications preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients during labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum phases
• Monitor maternal and fetal status and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
• Assist physicians and midwives during deliveries and obstetric procedures
• Provide education and support to patients and families regarding labor, delivery, and postpartum care
• Float between Labor & Delivery and Post-Partum units as needed
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and outcomes using electronic medical record systems
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
