About The Position
A healthcare facility is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) to join a high-acuity, fast-paced unit. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills, prior travel experience, and the ability to manage complex maternal and fetal cases while working independently and collaboratively.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) License
- Must reside 50+ miles from the facility (radius rule applies)
- Minimum 2+ years of Labor & Delivery experience
- Prior travel experience required
- Certifications Required: BLS ACLS NRP AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring (must be completed and passed)
Nice To Haves
- AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring
- EFM Certification
- Experience managing high-acuity patient populations
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care during labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum periods
- Monitor maternal and fetal conditions using fetal monitoring systems
- Administer medications and IV therapies as prescribed
- Assist physicians during labor, delivery, and emergency procedures
- Respond effectively to high-risk and high-acuity situations
- Educate patients and families on labor, recovery, and newborn care
- Maintain accurate documentation in Epic EMR
- Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and interdisciplinary teams
- Follow safety, infection control, and clinical protocols
- Float to other units or affiliated campuses as required
