The Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care to patients and families within an acute clinical care environment, adhering to the SMHCS nursing professional practice model and ANA's Standards of Professional Practice. This role involves prescribing, delegating, and coordinating nursing care for patients undergoing various Radiologic procedures, including Interventional Radiology, Neuro Interventional Radiology, CT Scan, Ultrasound, MRI, and General Radiology. Care encompasses interventions for patients across all levels, including Inpatient, Outpatient, Critical Care, Emergency Care, and Transfers. The nurse administers Moderate Sedation and manages the care of Radiology patients during procedures as directed by Intervention Radiologists. Collaboration with other professional disciplines is essential to ensure safe and effective patient care delivery and achieve quality patient outcomes. The nurse also works with the Radiology Interdisciplinary team, comprising the Medical Director, attending Physicians, unit-based support staff, unit manager, unit director, LPNs, and APRNs, to guide patients through a high-quality continuum of care. Key responsibilities include caring for patients experiencing Trauma or Stroke, Hemodynamic Monitoring, Drip Titration, and Vent Management.
