Registered Nurse Inpatient Oncology Unit
About The Position
Baystate Health, a nationally recognized leader in healthcare quality and safety, and home to Baystate Medical Center (BMC), a Magnet Hospital for Nursing Excellence, is looking for an inpatient Registered Nurse to join their Oncology Unit. A career within a Medicine Unit provides the opportunity to care for patients diagnosed with a variety of medical concerns. Nurses in this specialty have extensive knowledge and expertise in the nursing field, making them natural leaders on any healthcare team. The Medicine Units at Baystate Health are highly specialized and will be the foundation of a successful nursing career. The Oncology unit offers elbow-to-elbow support and comes fully equipped to help nurses provide for patients. The Oncology unit is a full-service 23-bed unit providing a wide array of inpatient therapies and comfort measures. The unit provides chemotherapy treatment, end of life care, and houses general medical/surgical patients and specialty oncology patients. This unit features a solid team with longevity on staff.
Requirements
- Successfully passed Board of Registration in Nursing Examination and is licensed in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
- Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider CPR certification required
- Minimum 1 year RN experience required
- ADN required
- Must complete ONS Fundamentals of Chemotherapy Immunotherapy certificate within 1 year of hire
- Must complete chemotherapy administration training within 1 year of hire
- Attend Charge Nurse and Preceptor Class within 1 year of hire
