About The Position

Baptist MD Anderson is looking for a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Infusion Therapy team at Baptist MD Anderson Cancer Center. This is a full-time days position, Monday-Friday from 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM and will require travel between the MD Anderson clinics at Baptist South, Baptist Clay and Downtown as needed. After hours phone triage call rotation is required. As a Registered Nurse in our oncology infusion clinic, you'll spend your day providing compassionate, hands-on care to patients receiving chemotherapy and other infusion therapies. You'll monitor treatments, manage side effects, and offer education and support to patients and families, all while collaborating closely with physicians, pharmacists, and the care team. Requirements

  • Associate's Degree - Nursing
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certification (CPR) Required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
  • Licensed Registered Nurse Required

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree - Nursing
  • Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) Preferred
  • Conscious Sedation Certification Preferred
  • Less than 1 year Advanced Dysrhythmia Experience
  • Less than 1 year Medical Surgical Nursing Experience
  • Less than 1 year IV Team Experience
  • Less than 1 year EKG Experience

Responsibilities

  • Provide for patient needs as recognized through use of the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) and the mission statement; organization; supervision of care provided by supportive personnel and coordination of care provided by ancillary services.
  • Include patients and significant others (SO), families in developing an individualized plan of care.
  • Educate patients, SO, families to their disease process and plan of care.
  • Serve as patient advocate and responsible for assisting the clinical staff.
  • Provide optimum care utilizing the nursing process.
