About The Position

The Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA) is seeking a Registered Nurse II for the COL - 6T CSSU (DMC) Cost Center. This role involves providing individualized, goal-directed patient care to families and patients at a competent level, utilizing the principles and practices of the nursing process. The Registered Nurse II is responsible for delivering safe and effective care and collaborating with other members of the health care team to achieve desired patient outcomes. MUSC Health, the clinical enterprise, operates a 750-bed medical center, which includes a nationally recognized Children’s Hospital, the Ashley River Tower (cardiovascular, digestive disease, and surgical oncology), Hollings Cancer Center (one of fewer than 70 elite National Cancer Institute designated centers), a Level I Trauma Center, and the Institute of Psychiatry. In addition, there are more than 100 outreach clinics, hospital/health system affiliations, and telehealth sites. U.S. News & World Report placed MUSC among the top one percent of all American hospitals, with 11 specialties in the top 50. The MUSC Medical Center is also one of only three Magnet® designated hospitals in South Carolina.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in Nursing
  • Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) also required for most nursing areas within the hospital
  • RN staff hired on or after July 1, 2013 with an Associate or Diploma degree in nursing are required to be enrolled in an accredited BSN program within two years and successfully obtain a BSN degree within four years of the RN hire or reclassification date
  • A minimum of one year of work experience as a registered nurse required
