MULTIPLE OPENINGS In clinical settings, cares for patients using the nursing process, independent judgment, and evidence-based practice to assess and treat responses to actual or potential health problems. Maintains clinical competency and participates in continuing education related to health care issues and as outlined by appropriate regulatory and accrediting agencies. Adheres to ethical principles of practice as defined by the Nurse Practice Act and the ANA code of ethics for nurses. Demonstrates ongoing competency to practice through participation in professional organizations and committees. Coordinates care with other disciplines; delegates tasks to other nursing staff; supervises staff in their delivery of care and evaluation of results. Collects comprehensive data including but not limited to, physical functionality, physiological, emotional, cognitive, sexual, cultural, age related, environmental, spiritual/transpersonal, and economic assessments, in a systematic and ongoing process. Analyzes the assessment data to determine diagnoses and identifies expected outcomes for the individual patient. Involves the patient, family and other healthcare providers in formulating the expected outcomes. Develops an individualized plan in partnership with the patient, family and others considering the person’s individual values, beliefs, preferences, and assessment data. Coordinates care delivery. Conducts an ongoing evaluation of the effectiveness of the planned strategies related to the attainment of expected outcomes. Delivers healthcare in a therapeutic and professional manner, demonstrating sensitivity towards unique patient/significant other needs. Utilizes current evidence based nursing knowledge, including research findings, to guide practice.
