About The Position

Endoscopy is a procedural department that serves both inpatient and outpatient procedures. We offer a wide variety of GI procedures, both general and therapeutic procedures, as well as motility specialty procedures, supporting adult, and occasional pediatric, patients. Procedures provided by the unit include, but are not limited to: screening colonoscopy, EGD, dilation for strictures, feeding tube placement, ERCP, ESWL, POEM, and EUS. Endoscopy also includes two prep and recovery units, composed of 23 P/R bays. The general and therapeutic RN’s take call, supporting urgent and emergent endoscopy procedures, and have a team of GI Techs that reprocess the endoscopes with a process called High Level Disinfection. We mostly operate Monday-Friday 8am-5pm, with the call team supporting the urgent cases outside of normal business hours. Job Summary/Purpose: Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse I (New Graduate) assists at the advanced beginner level in providing individualized, goal directed nursing care to patients and families utilizing principles and practices of the nursing process; interacts with other members of the health care team to achieve desired outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred.
  • RN staff hired on or after July 1, 2013 with an Associate or Diploma degree in nursing are required to be enrolled in an accredited BSN program within two years and successfully obtain a BSN degree within four years of the RN hire or reclassification date.
  • Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
