About The Position

This position is a limited appointment. The RN in the Adult Hemophilia Treatment Center is responsible for providing direct and indirect clinical care to adult outpatients who have a variety of inherited bleeding disorders. Care is provided through the systematic application of the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. All components of this process are individualized to meet the physiological, psychosocial, and developmental needs of the patients. The RN performs ongoing assessments and modifies the care planning process as needed, to ensure continuity of care between inpatient, outpatient, homecare, home, and multiple providers. They're actively involved in patient, staff, and provider education and participate in clinical research activities within the program and incorporate research findings into planning and implementation of care. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement. The salary range for this position is $89.02 - $115.34 (Hourly Rate). It provides a full range of services for individuals with hemophilia, von Willebrand disease, and other rare bleeding disorders. The center focuses on treating the whole person and their family, addressing both medical and psychosocial aspects of living with a bleeding disorder. Requirements

  • BSN
  • Two (2) years of recent RN experience in an adult care setting (inpatient or outpatient)
  • Two (2) years of recent RN experience in hematology and proficiency with infusion practices
  • Recent RN experience with rare bleeding disorders
  • Recent RN experience navigating and documenting in multiple electronic systems
  • Recent RN experience triaging hematology patients via phone and in person
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve, think critically and communicate calmly in complex situations
  • CA Registered Nurse license
  • Active American Heart Association CPR Certification

  • Recent RN experience with hemostasis and thrombosis
  • Recent RN experience with; genetic and laboratory diagnostics, patient and family education, interdisciplinary care coordination, clinical research participation, and navigation of specialty pharmacy services, 340B program requirements, and community resources relevant to bleeding disorder
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize leadership skills to coordinate multidisciplinary care, support patients and families, mentor staff, and drive program quality while advancing the mission of the Hemophilia Treatment Center (HTC)
  • Bilingual Spanish
