About The Position

Indiana University Health is seeking passionate, experienced, and new graduate nurses for Registered Nurse roles in Hematology/Oncology. These roles are available for both part-time and full-time positions, with a $30,000 sign-on bonus for eligible candidates. The specific unit, IU Health University Hospital’s Hematology/Oncology Unit, is a 28-bed unit specializing in the care of patients with Acute Leukemia, Lymphoma, Multiple Myeloma, Sarcomas, and Intestinal Cancers. Nurses on this unit provide highly skilled, complex care to surgical oncology patients, as well as ENT, Thoracic, Urology, Plastics, and General surgery patients. The patient population includes critically ill individuals requiring ventilation, vasopressors, continuous dialysis, and therapeutic specialty beds. The role emphasizes strong initiative, compassion, high integrity, and collaboration.

Requirements

  • Associates of Nursing (ASN)
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license
  • Graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program (exceptions may be considered for candidates with more than two years of acute care experience)
  • Basic Life Support certification through the AHA
  • Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies

  • Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide highly skilled, complex care to surgical oncology patients

  • Administer chemotherapy
  • Obtain ONS Certification
